TAJĘCINA, Poland — Collins Aerospace has opened a newly expanded, 22,000-square-meter manufacturing facility in southeastern Poland, a $69 million project that will lift landing gear system production capacity by nearly 25% for commercial and defense aircraft programs and add about 190 jobs this year.
“Collins is making a long-term investment in both the local workforce and the future of aerospace in the broader Poland ecosystem,” said Matt Maurer, vice president and general manager of Landing Systems at Collins Aerospace. “Building on the strong foundation established in 2012, this expansion significantly increases critical production capacity, accelerates growth, and strengthens our ability to deliver the high-performance landing gear systems our customers depend on around the world.”
The company says its advanced landing gear systems are designed to enhance performance while reducing maintenance needs. Teams in Tajęcina and nearby Krosno produce and support main, nose and wing landing gear assemblies.
The move comes alongside broader investment in Poland by RTX businesses. Pratt & Whitney, also part of RTX, recently announced a $100 million expansion at its Rzeszów facility to increase output of rotating compressor and turbine disks, supporting growing demand for Pratt & Whitney GTF, F135 and F100 engines. That project is expected to boost production by 30% and be operational by 2028.
Poland is RTX’s largest employee base and investment footprint outside the United States, with more than 9,400 employees across Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney and Raytheon. The company has operated in the country for over five decades and runs nine major engineering, manufacturing, maintenance and research development facilities supporting both commercial and military programs.
