Houston, July 21, 2026 — KBR outlined a slate of technology capabilities within its Mission Technology Solutions business to support Golden Dome for America, the nation’s next-generation missile defense initiative. The company said it is leveraging expertise in joint integrated air and missile defense, space domain awareness, Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems and directed energy to turn complex mission data into rapid, actionable insights for U.S. warfighters.
KBR described platform-neutral integration solutions that connect systems across combatant commands, federal agencies and joint operational environments to enable a unified, interagency approach. It highlighted rapid digital engineering, advanced data integration and threat simulation to reduce government risk and compress development timelines, and cited work addressing space-based sensing, hypersonic systems, drone threats and system resilience.
The company holds a seat on the Missile Defense Agency’s Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense (SHIELD) multiple-award IDIQ, which has a total ceiling value of $151 billion across all awardees. It also pointed to current work that aligns with Golden Dome priorities, including:
– Digital engineering and decision support for the U.S. Space Force:
– A $95 million, five-year Digital Engineering and Enterprise Decision Support award in 2026 to accelerate the transition of next-generation space mission capabilities from concept to deployment.
– A firm-fixed-price task order totaling $77 million over three years in 2026 for Decision Support for Headquarters Analysis, advancing digital engineering and assured communications.
– The Design Implementation for Collaborative Environment task order, awarded in 2025 with a ceiling value of $98.7 million over three years, to establish a state-of-the-art testing and training environment using KBR’s digital engineering ecosystem.
– Space domain awareness: Support at the Air Force Maui Optical and Supercomputing Site under the Advanced Space Technology Research and Optimization contract, awarded in 2025 by the Air Force Research Laboratory, with a $176 million ceiling over seven years.
– PATRIOT missile system enhancements: More than four decades of mission-critical technical and engineering services, including a $207 million, five-year task order awarded in 2022.
– C-UAS support and sustainment: Detection, characterization, identification and mitigation capabilities for the U.S. Navy under a $52.6 million contract awarded in 2026.
KBR named Daniel Dant vice president of Strategic Initiatives to lead its pursuit of Golden Dome opportunities. Dant served 26 years in the Air Force, commanded the 460th Space Wing at Buckley Air Force Base, was aide-de-camp to the commander of Air Force Space Command, and, as space policy director for the Office of the Secretary of Defense, pioneered a new strategic posture for threats to U.S. space capabilities.
Jay Lennon, president of KBR’s Mission Technology Solutions Defense and Intel division and a 25-year Air Force veteran who oversees the company’s national security and defense technology portfolios, will also drive the Golden Dome strategy and bring together KBR’s core strengths to prioritize speed in supporting the Department of War. “KBR stands ready to be a major Golden Dome partner, channelling our wide-ranging technology expertise to develop the nation’s modernized missile shield,” said Lennon. “I am thrilled to help lead our contributions to the Golden Dome program, the most complex technological architecture ever to be developed and fielded.”
The company said its major lines of effort are driven by digital transformation, spanning advanced data integration, long-range targeting and engagement analysis, enterprise architecture, rapid prototyping, sense making, modeling and simulation, and testing and evaluation. Through labs, subject matter experts and a range of kill chain and modeling and analysis tools, KBR positions itself as a technology accelerator to simulate and test new architectures, support AI innovation and enable vendor-agnostic algorithm development.
KBR reported that independent research and development spending has increased significantly this year as it fast-tracks investment in digital engineering, prototyping, modeling and simulation, and in labs and classified facilities with hosted networks to enable vendor-agnostic collaboration and integration.
