Peraton has made its Peraton Interactive Realtime Information System (IRIS) commercially available, positioning the AI-enabled decision-support platform for analysts, mission planners, and commanders operating in complex information environments. The system is at Technology Readiness Level 9 and approved for Controlled Unclassified Information use at IL5, with an Approval to Operate at IL6 expected by July 2026. It has been in operational use at U.S. Combatant Commands since April 2025 and has been available through the Tradewinds marketplace since September 2025.
Designed to accelerate the full analytical lifecycle, IRIS spans real-time media monitoring through influence campaign planning, turning multi-source data into intelligence aligned to operational timelines. The platform brings continuously updated data sources into a single interface intended to support decision-making across the spectrum of information operations.
“Peraton has long understood that the information environment is not a secondary theater: it is a primary one. Peraton IRIS represents the convergence of artificial intelligence and real-time data integration,” said Tom Afferton, president of Peraton’s Cyber and Intelligence Sector. “Combined with deep operational expertise, Peraton IRIS is a single platform that empowers our analysts, planners, graphics illustrators, researchers, and most importantly, operators, to stay ahead of adversary narratives, counter their messaging at scale, and support mission success across every domain. In an era of cognitive warfare, speed and clarity of understanding are decisive advantages, and Peraton IRIS delivers both.”
The company says IRIS orchestrates five of the nation’s most powerful AI models and layers mission data, domain context, and analytical workflows to convert raw model output into actionable national security intelligence. It is described as vendor-, data-, and contract-agnostic.
Built for a landscape in which cognitive warfare and influence campaigns have become central features of modern conflict, IRIS includes advanced semantic search, natural language querying, sentiment trend analysis, and AI-assisted narrative tracking. Its cognitive warfare module supports Psychological Operations and Information Operations planning and target audience analysis.
“What Peraton IRIS does is fundamentally change the relationship between the user and the data. Instead of spending hours aggregating information from disparate sources, operators can now ask complex, multi-layered questions in natural language and receive synthesized, citation-backed answers in seconds,” said Cliff Bean, senior director of cognitive warfare. “That shift — from data management to genuine insight generation — is what makes Peraton IRIS a force multiplier for every mission it supports.”
IRIS received a Silver Stevie Award for Technical Innovation of the Year in the Artificial Intelligence category in November 2025.
