Brent G. Ingraham has been sworn in as the Army’s Assistant Secretary for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology, assuming oversight of a roughly $170 billion portfolio spanning more than 550 programs. The Senate-confirmed presidential appointee will be responsible for ensuring soldiers are equipped with advanced technologies and capabilities as the service pushes ahead with modernization.

He began his career in the automotive sector as a powertrain engineer before entering federal service in 2010. His work on vehicle survivability earned him the Navy’s Top Scientist and Engineer of the Year Award in 2013.

Ingraham holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of New Hampshire. His honors include the Presidential Rank Award for Meritorious Service and the Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service.
