U.S. Southern Command said its Joint Task Force Southern Spear carried out a lethal strike on May 5 against a vessel in the Eastern Pacific that it described as being operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations.
The command said intelligence indicated the vessel was moving along known narco‑trafficking routes and engaged in narcotics operations. Three male narco‑terrorists were killed, and no U.S. forces were harmed.
The operation was conducted at the direction of Gen. Francis L. Donovan, commander of U.S. Southern Command.
