U.S. Africa Command carried out a series of airstrikes targeting ISIS-Somalia between Feb. 22 and Feb. 26, 2026, in coordination with the Federal Government of Somalia.
The strikes took place in the vicinity of the Golis Mountains, roughly 70 kilometers southeast of Bossaso. AFRICOM said it is working alongside the Federal Government of Somalia and the Somali Armed Forces to reduce ISIS-Somalia’s ability to threaten the United States, U.S. forces, and citizens overseas.
