U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has intensified military operations targeting Iranian capabilities in a series of strikes that began on July 21. This marked the 11th consecutive evening of attacks aimed at Iranian military operations centers, maritime capabilities, and infrastructure vital for military logistics. The objective of these actions is to significantly diminish Iran’s capacity to threaten commercial shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz.

The heightened military activity follows Iran’s recent pattern of aggression in the region, having reportedly attacked over 30 commercial vessels in the past three months. These unwarranted assaults have posed significant risks to the safety of mariners and have raised concerns over the stability of navigation in international waters.

Despite the escalating tensions and Iranian aggression, the Strait of Hormuz remains open for commercial traffic. Since early May, CENTCOM forces have reportedly facilitated the safe passage of around 900 commercial vessels, delivering approximately 450 million barrels of crude oil through this crucial waterway.
