FARNBOROUGH, England — GE Aerospace (NYSE: GE) and Turkish Technic announced a Service and License Agreement on July 21, 2026, that expands GE Aerospace-authorized maintenance, repair, and overhaul support for Data Link Control and Display Units (DCDU) for an initial five-year term. The deal enables Turkish Technic to provide OEM-authorized services to domestic and global airline customers from its facilities in Istanbul.

Under the agreement, GE Aerospace will provide dedicated test equipment, OEM parts, and structured technical support, along with licensed access to technical data and know-how. The collaboration is positioned to bring electronics services closer to customers and bolster Türkiye’s role as a regional hub for advanced aviation services, improving regional access, turnaround support, and OEM-authorized service availability for operators worldwide.

Yasin Birinci, Chief Technical Officer of Turkish Technic said, “This agreement is an important step towards expanding our electronics service capabilities. We are pleased to enhance our MRO services through this agreement with GE Aerospace. This partnership will primarily increase service availability, helping operators reduce downtime and optimize their fleet performance.”

“We are proud to deepen our long-standing partnership with Turkish Technic in the region.” said Kris Shepherd, President and General Manager at GE Aerospace, Electrical Power Systems. “This collaboration brings electronics services closer to customers and strengthens Türkiye’s aerospace services ecosystem. We are committed to support this expansion of global DCDU repair capacity, enhancing regional access and service availability.”

DCDUs support cockpit data-link communications, helping flight crews manage digital messages as part of modern aircraft systems. By adding GE Aerospace-authorized DCDU capability, Turkish Technic is expected to increase global repair capacity, shorten turnaround times, and ensure long-term service availability for airlines.

GE Aerospace has operated in Türkiye for 60 years, with offices and facilities in Istanbul, Ankara, and Gebze. More than 500 employees in the country support an installed base of over 3,100 commercial and defense engines. Engineers at the Türkiye Technology Center contribute to global work on new engine programs, software development, and additive manufacturing.
