Booz Allen expands mission-grade cyber defense suite

McLean, Va. — Booz Allen Hamilton has expanded its AI-powered cyber defense lineup with the general availability of Vellox Ranger, a product designed to automatically generate environment-specific threat detections using the company’s proprietary agentic AI framework. The tool identifies exploitable paths and vulnerabilities based on the real-time state of an enterprise’s infrastructure.

The company positions Vellox Ranger to help protect critical systems, reduce operational disruption risk, shorten the time attackers can remain undetected, and curb costs by minimizing false alarms—aiming to let organizations speed, scale, and strengthen detection at machine pace.

The release follows Booz Allen’s latest cyber threat report, “When Cyberattacks Happen at AI Speed,” which underscores how expanding attack surfaces, fragmented toolsets, and rapidly evolving threats are outpacing traditional detection engineering reliant on generic rules and manual tuning.

Vellox Ranger applies a “detection-from-the-inside-out” approach by modeling each customer’s environment—assets, topology, vulnerabilities, and telemetry—then layering current cyber threat intelligence, mapping relevant exposure to MITRE ATT&CK, and generating prioritized, tailored detection logic. While the AI orchestrates autonomous detection, governance remains human-led.

Vellox Ranger joins a broader Vellox agentic cyber product suite built to integrate with existing technology stacks. Vellox Reverser (generally available) automates in-depth malware analysis and threat intelligence to produce rapid defensive recommendations. Vellox Navigator (coming soon) is a live compliance command layer intended to enable continuous monitoring, control assessments, and real-time risk mitigation. Vellox Reverser Triage (coming soon) extends Reverser with high-volume, fast malware triage across file types to replace legacy sandboxing. Vellox Striker (limited preview) emulates AI-enabled adversaries to surface critical security gaps and train customer models to spot sophisticated threats. Vellox LayerOne (limited preview) serves as a governance and compliance gateway for AI agents, validating outputs, enforcing controls, and producing defensible evidence to support high‑stakes adoption.
