Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Ken Wilsbach and Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force David Wolfe visited Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam on May 13, meeting with Airmen to emphasize the importance of flight operations and aircraft maintenance to deterrence and combat readiness.
Wilsbach led an all-call focused on Hickam’s role in generating airpower, taking questions and engaging with personnel across ranks and career fields. “It’s great to be back in Hawaii visiting Airmen,” said Wilsbach. “The work you do is so important for the readiness of our force. Every single person here, whether you’re officer, enlisted, guard, reserve, civilian, everybody has a connection to our fly and fix mission.”
He also flew an F-22 Raptor with the Hawaiian Raptors, underscoring the integrated operations of Team Hickam and the total-force partnership between active-duty Airmen and the Hawaii Air National Guard.
Wolfe met with mission partners from the 515th Air Mobility Operations Wing and the 624th Regional Support Group to see how their efforts enable global mobility. “This is a critical node for global readiness, and certainly for readiness in the Pacific,” Wolfe said. “What you’re doing here sets us up for that deterrent value, and every day you are here and getting the job done makes a difference.”
The visit concluded with recognition of standout Team Hickam Airmen and highlighted the 15th Wing’s ability, alongside mission partners, to project and sustain airpower throughout the Indo-Pacific.
