Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Ken Wilsbach and Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force David Wolfe visited Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam on May 13, meeting with Airmen across the installation to emphasize readiness and the daily work of keeping aircraft flying.
During a base-wide all-call, Wilsbach discussed Hickam’s role in producing credible airpower and took questions from personnel across ranks and specialties. “It’s great to be back in Hawaii visiting Airmen,” said Wilsbach. “The work you do is so important for the readiness of our force. Every single person here, whether you’re officer, enlisted, guard, reserve, civilian, everybody has a connection to our fly and fix mission.”
Wilsbach also flew in an F-22 Raptor with the Hawaiian Raptors, underscoring how active-duty Airmen and the Hawaii Air National Guard operate as a single team in operations and maintenance.
Wolfe spent time with the 515th Air Mobility Operations Wing and the 624th Regional Support Group to see how their activities enable global movement of personnel and equipment. “This is a critical node for global readiness, and certainly for readiness in the Pacific,” Wolfe said. “What you’re doing here sets us up for that deterrent value, and every day you are here and getting the job done makes a difference.”
The visit concluded with recognition for standout Team Hickam Airmen. Leaders said the trip underscored the 15th Wing and its partners’ capacity to deliver and sustain airpower across the Indo-Pacific.
