Centcom carries out another series of strikes on Iran

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has conducted a series of offensive strikes against Iranian military infrastructure as part of an ongoing effort to bolster security in the strategic Strait of Hormuz. On July 12, CENTCOM targeted multiple sites, utilizing precision munitions to weaken Iran’s capacity to launch attacks on international shipping through this crucial maritime corridor.

The military operation focused on significant assets, including Iranian air-defense systems, coastal radar installations, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats. U.S. fighter aircraft, naval vessels, one-way attack aerial drones, and one-way attack sea drones were deployed in this unprecedented strike.

The Strait of Hormuz holds immense importance in global trade, serving as a passage for a significant portion of the world’s oil shipments. Despite ongoing tensions, it remains outside of Iranian control. U.S. military leadership has emphasized their commitment to maintaining freedom of navigation in the area, countering what they label as Iran’s “continued unwarranted aggression” against commercial shipping.
