Anthony D’Ambrosio, a longtime Defense Logistics Agency leader whose work spanned wartime construction support and major humanitarian missions, will be inducted into the DLA Hall of Fame in 2026.
The ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m. May 7 at the McNamara Headquarters Complex auditorium on Fort Belvoir, Virginia. It is open to all DLA employees and does not require invitations. D’Ambrosio is one of five inductees being recognized this year.
D’Ambrosio began his federal career in 1985 as a procurement agent and rose to become a key figure in acquisition before serving as deputy director of the Construction and Equipment supply chain at DLA Troop Support. He retired in 2018.
Over a decade as deputy director, he managed a portfolio that generated more than $29 billion in sales. His team supported construction needs tied to U.S. Central and Pacific Command operations and led DLA’s logistics response to the Ebola outbreak in Liberia and to Hurricanes Harvey and Maria. Following Hurricane Maria in 2017, the Construction and Equipment supply chain provided more than 36 million parts to help restore power in Puerto Rico.
During his final two years in the role, sales for the Construction and Equipment supply chain increased from $3.5 billion to $6.2 billion.
D’Ambrosio was nominated by Army Brig. Gen. Sean Kelly, commander of DLA Troop Support, who credited him with overseeing major tailored vendor logistics programs and leading efforts during significant contingencies. The nomination materials also cited his professionalism and leadership throughout his career.
