DSCC wins top DOW installation honor

Defense Supply Center Columbus in Ohio has been named one of six winners of the 2026 Commander in Chief’s Annual Award for Installation Excellence, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced. The installation, led by Navy Rear Adm. Julie Treanor, was recognized for performance during fiscal year 2025.

The award highlights top-performing U.S. military installations for standout stewardship and innovation. According to a June 4 War.gov notice announcing the winners, honorees are selected for exceptional support to Department of War missions over the previous fiscal year.

DSCC, a 500-acre site in Columbus, is under the operational control of Defense Logistics Agency Weapons Support (Columbus) alongside DLA Installation Management – Columbus. The installation hosts a mix of state, federal and Department of War organizations on or near the property, including the Ohio Army National Guard Regional Training Institute; the 4th Marine Corps District of Marine Corps Recruiting Command; the Defense Finance and Accounting Service; and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Installations compete on measures that include mission support, quality of life and morale, facilities and real property management, safety, health and security, communications, and public relations. DSCC was cited for excelling across those categories while carrying out a complex global logistics mission in support of U.S. forces.
