Defense Logistics Agency Energy capped a packed week by hosting DLA Vice Director Brad Bunn for a fourth-quarter leadership review on July 17 at the McNamara Headquarters Complex, where leaders highlighted progress on strategic goals and showcased new technology aimed at speeding acquisitions.
During the session in the Kunkel Conference Room, Bunn met with DLA Energy leadership, recognized four employees for their contributions, and received updates on global inventory, sustainment and modernization work, infrastructure initiatives, and key organizational results.
Officials demonstrated an artificial intelligence-powered Request for Proposal Generator designed to streamline contract solicitations. The modular tool can produce a draft, 200-page solicitation in under 10 minutes, replacing a process that previously took one to three weeks and helping contract specialists maintain consistency and regulatory compliance.
Leaders also outlined the Citizen Developer Pilot Program: Digital Fluency Initiative, a 12-week effort to build a more digitally fluent workforce by teaching employees to harness data and emerging technologies to solve mission challenges.
The visit fell amid several milestones for the organization: an employee appreciation event on July 16; the July 17 signing of the Australia Fuel Support and Chilean Navy Fuel Exchange agreements; and the DLA Energy Pacific (Japan) change of command on July 21.
Across the discussions and events, DLA Energy underscored a push to apply data with speed and accuracy, deepen supply chain partnerships, and invest in its people to meet evolving global energy demands in a contested logistics environment.
