U.S. completes latest round of strikes against Iran

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has conducted a series of targeted strikes against Iranian military assets, aimed at enhancing maritime security in the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz. The operations, which commenced on the evening of July 15, concluded at 9 p.m. ET and involved precision munitions to hit various Iranian command centers, air defense sites, and missile and drone facilities.

The strikes were executed in response to concerns regarding threats posed by Iran to commercial vessels in the busy shipping lane. Key locations targeted included Bandar Abbas and other facilities integral to Iran’s coastal surveillance and defense capabilities.

Earlier in the day, U.S. forces also launched an operation against coastal defense and cruise missile sites on Greater Tunb Island, which lasted approximately 90 minutes. CENTCOM emphasized that these actions were taken under the directive of the Commander in Chief, reinforcing a commitment to hold Iran accountable for its regional activities.
