U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) conducted a series of airstrikes against military targets in Iran on the night of July 13, marking a significant escalation in U.S. military involvement in the region. The operation, which lasted approximately five hours, concluded at 10:15 p.m. ET and aimed to disrupt Iran’s capability to launch attacks on commercial shipping.
The targeted areas included Bushehr, Chah Bahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa, and Bandar Abbas. The strikes were focused on Iranian coastal defense systems, as well as missile and drone sites, which are believed to enhance Iran’s maritime capabilities.
The U.S. maintains a substantial military presence in the Middle East, with more than 50,000 service members currently deployed. In light of the recent operations, military officials emphasized the readiness and lethality of American forces in the region.
