U.S. Forces Conduct Strike Targeting al-Shabaab

In an operation coordinated with the Federal Government of Somalia, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) executed an airstrike against al-Shabaab on July 15, 2026. The strike took place near Welmaro, situated approximately 100 kilometers north of Kismayo.
