Iran launched a ballistic missile toward Kuwait at 10:17 p.m. ET on May 27 that was intercepted by Kuwaiti forces, U.S. Central Command said. The command described the launch as “This egregious ceasefire violation by the Iranian regime,” adding it came hours after Iranian forces launched five one-way attack drones in and near the Strait of Hormuz.
U.S. forces intercepted all five drones and also prevented a sixth drone launch from an Iranian ground control site in Bandar Abbas, the command said.
“U.S. Central Command and regional partners remain vigilant and measured as we continue to defend our forces and interests from unjustified Iranian aggression,” the statement said.
