ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 21, 2026 — Lockheed Martin enabled a two-hour training event that linked 16 F-35 full mission simulators across Marine Corps Air Stations Yuma, Miramar and Iwakuni, and Naval Air Station Lemoore, alongside F-18 simulators and an E-2D Hawkeye controller from Naval Air Station Oceana, for a realistic multidomain mission rehearsal.
The event used the company’s tactical environment simulation to model air, surface and cyber operations. Participants at geographically separated bases integrated operations, maintained strong command-and-control, and achieved all stated training goals. Teams also reported uninterrupted situational awareness and steady data exchange throughout the exercise.
“This exercise enabled warfighters to train the way they fight. They complete complex missions in coordination across distances – their training should represent their missions,” said Ken Garrett, vice president of F-35 Training and Logistics. “Mission rehearsal across multiple bases builds the readiness, interoperability and confidence required to win tomorrow’s missions.”
