Prague, Czech Republic — Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, has selected Česká letecká servisní, a.s. (ČLS) as an authorized distribution center for Black Hawk helicopter parts within the European Union, establishing the company’s first such hub in the bloc.
The move is intended to increase parts availability for a growing Black Hawk fleet across the EU by leveraging ČLS’s experience delivering turnkey avionics and equipment solutions for helicopter and fixed-wing platforms. By stocking Sikorsky-recommended components in its warehouse, ČLS is expected to keep high-demand items on hand to support S-70, UH-60M and UH-60A/L aircraft, with quick access viewed as critical for mission-focused operators.
“As the Hawk helicopter fleet grows in Europe, we are committed to supporting operator readiness for emergency response, security operations and more,” said Rich Benton, vice president and general manager, Sikorsky. “By working alongside ČLS, we are strengthening our service footprint in the European Union and ensuring timely parts delivery for Black Hawk helicopters.”
ČLS is authorized to distribute Sikorsky components across EU countries where more than 150 Black Hawks are in service. The company completed a detailed review and evaluation to meet Sikorsky’s quality, process and policy standards for authorized distribution centers.
“Being appointed an authorized Sikorsky distribution center for the European Union countries marks a significant milestone for ČLS and proves our expertise in modernizations and after- sales support of helicopter platforms,” said Monika Kowalczykova, CEO of ČLS.
The appointment expands Sikorsky’s regional sustainment strategy, adding the EU to a distribution network that also spans South America, the Middle East and Asia. It also aligns with ongoing collaboration among ČLS, Sikorsky, PZL Mielec and United Rotorcraft to launch the S-70 FIREHAWK helicopter program for the Czech Republic.
Sikorsky highlights the Black Hawk family’s reliability, versatility and rapid-deployment capabilities for a range of EU missions, from humanitarian assistance and disaster relief to tactical air mobility and joint-force operations. The S-70 Black Hawk variant is manufactured by PZL Mielec in Poland and supported by regional suppliers, underscoring a localized supply chain.
ČLS provides avionics and special-mission solutions for military and civil aircraft and helicopters in Central and Eastern Europe, spanning consultation and design through installation, certification, maintenance and training.
