CAMDEN, Ark., June 24, 2026 — L3Harris Technologies has begun construction on two additional facilities in Camden, Arkansas, to expand production capacity for the U.S. Army’s PAC-3 propulsion systems amid rising demand.
“We’re self‑funding these new facilities in Arkansas to move at the speed this mission requires,” said Christopher Kubasik, Chairman and CEO, L3Harris. “This expansion boosts our ability to deliver PAC‑3 propulsion faster and at greater quantities, while strengthening military readiness and providing proven capability our warfighters depend on.”
The buildings will be added to the company’s Arkansas Advanced Propulsion Facilities campus. One will be an approximately 75,000-square-foot cast, cure and final assembly facility; the other will be an approximately 70,000-square-foot case preparation facility. Plans call for advanced manufacturing features including automated X-ray inspection systems that use AI for rapid defect detection, fully automated casting, and expanded curing capacity aimed at accelerating throughput.
L3Harris produces the PAC-3 MSE interceptor’s two-pulse solid rocket motor, Attitude Control Motors, and the Lethality Enhancer. The broader AAPF campus, which broke ground last year with Arkansas state leaders, is part of an effort to build modernized solid rocket motor production sites across the country. The campus will focus on medium and large solid rocket motors for tactical and air defense missiles, missile defense targets, interceptors, hypersonic vehicles and emerging missile defense needs.
Companywide, L3Harris is constructing roughly 60 facilities and expanding its manufacturing footprint by nearly 1 million square feet across sites in Alabama, Arkansas and Virginia.
