BRISTOL, England — L3Harris Technologies has been selected to supply an advanced Integrated Platform Management System for the Polish Navy’s new Miecznik-class frigates, with state-owned shipbuilder PGZ Stocznia Wojenna choosing the system to boost ship performance, reliability and safety.
“Miecznik-class frigates, powered by L3Harris’ IPMS, represent the future of maritime defence, providing Poland with superior combat power and a strategic edge in regional waters,” said Nino DiCosmo, President, Maritime, Space & Mission Systems, L3Harris. “Our next-generation solution strengthens Poland’s defence industrial capabilities while enabling the fleet to extend operational range and endurance.”
The company said its IPMS incorporates capabilities refined through work with the U.K. Royal Navy, Royal Netherlands Navy, Royal Australian Navy and Royal Canadian Navy, and has been delivered to nearly 300 vessels across 28 navies.
Based on Babcock International’s Arrowhead 140 design, the Miecznik-class frigates are intended to modernize the Polish fleet and enhance operational capabilities. L3Harris said the IPMS will optimize situational awareness, operational efficiency and safety on the ships.
