Ingalls Shipbuilding President Brian Blanchette issued a Labor Day message praising the company’s workforce and underscoring its responsibility to those who serve. “We build ships for the warfighter, and they depend on us to get it right,” he wrote, crediting “skill,” “commitment to first-time quality,” and “dedication” across the enterprise.
Blanchette emphasized that delivering reliable vessels is a collective effort: “From the craftsmen and women on the deckplate to the teams who plan, design, support and lead the work, it takes all of us to deliver ships our sailors and marines can count on.”
He encouraged shipbuilders to use the holiday to recharge, adding, “Labor Day gives us an opportunity to rest and recognize the people behind that work. I hope you use your day off to step away, spend time with those who matter most and enjoy the life you’ve built. Because it’s just as important as the ships.”
Blanchette closed with thanks and a reminder of the mission at stake. “Thank you for all you do to build the fleet – the Navy and the nation are depending on us. Have a safe Labor Day.”
