Leidos teams with CoreWeave to speed AI for defense, national security and intelligence missions

RESTON, Va., and LIVINGSTON, N.J. — July 30, 2026 — Leidos and CoreWeave said they are collaborating to deliver secure, sovereign AI cloud services tailored to the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of War (DoW), aiming to help federal agencies build, train, deploy, and operate AI at mission scale.

The effort pairs Leidos’ federal integration and national security systems expertise with CoreWeave’s AI-native cloud platform, with the companies positioning the initiative to convert AI into an operational advantage for U.S. missions. They plan to offer dedicated AI cloud capacity for government workloads, built on the technology stack used for advanced AI deployments and adapted for the security, classification, and operational needs of national security organizations.

Features envisioned include:
– Classified AI Cloud Services for model training, fine-tuning, evaluation, deployment, and continuous monitoring.
– Intelligence Analyst Augmentation for multi-source fusion, imagery analysis and exploitation, and decision support.
– Cyber AI Ranges for simulation, autonomous defense testing, threat modeling, vulnerability prioritization, and adversarial AI evaluation.
– Synthetic Data and Simulation for mission-relevant data generation, digital twins, and training and planning environments.
– Edge-to-Cloud AI Orchestration to connect centralized platforms with forward-deployed, disconnected, and tactical environments.

Within SCIF-accredited data centers, CoreWeave plans to provide purpose-built infrastructure, advanced networking, AI-optimized storage, and cloud-native orchestration for training and inference. Leidos will lead mission integration, secure architecture accreditation support, cyber operations, data engineering, and customer delivery for intelligence and defense programs.

The companies expect the joint effort to accelerate mission-applied AI aligned with national security needs and help unify fragmented AI infrastructure across domains. The combined capabilities will be designed with federal security controls, auditability, model governance, data protection, and mission continuity as foundational elements. Compute deployment and architecture will be determined by mission requirements and federal appropriation priorities.

The collaboration builds on the recent launch of CoreWeave Federal, the company’s dedicated business for U.S. government agencies and the Defense Industrial Base. The companies noted that the plans are forward-looking and contingent on the execution of definitive agreements, with no assurance that the contemplated transactions will be completed on the terms described or within a particular timeframe.
