U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed the loss of two American service members and the status of one missing in Jordan following an Iranian attack on July 17. In the aftermath of the incident, military personnel conducted a thorough search, resulting in the discovery of unidentified remains at the site. An ongoing examination process aims to verify the identity of these remains.
In a separate incident, a service member was killed in northern Iraq on July 18 while conducting a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone. Another service member sustained a minor injury and is currently receiving medical treatment.
