Adm. Samuel J. Paparo, commander of U.S. Pacific Command, observed soldiers training with the Army’s Dark Eagle Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon during exercise Valiant Shield in June 2026 in the United States. He was joined by Capt. Alexander Vahadji and Lt. Col. Alexander Mullin, both assigned to the 7th Infantry Division (Multi-Domain Command – Pacific).
The training aligns with ongoing joint efforts in the Pacific to bring together forces from all military branches with allied partners, enabling multi-axis, multi-domain effects intended to highlight the joint force’s versatility and reinforce a commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific.
