Navy taps Nicole Perry to lead small-business programs

WASHINGTON — The Department of the Navy has placed Nicole Perry, deputy director of the Office of Small Business Programs, in charge of the office on an acting basis, effective immediately, according to an announcement from Acting Secretary of the Navy Hung Cao. She succeeds Andrew Magliochetti, who is leaving to lead the launch of a new Department of the Navy initiative.

Perry will perform the duties of director while continuing to oversee the office’s mission of expanding small-business participation across Navy and Marine Corps procurement. The Office of Small Business Programs sets policy and works with acquisition commands and industry to increase competition, broaden the supplier base, and help the department meet federal small-business goals.

The department did not provide additional details about the new initiative Magliochetti will lead or outline next steps for naming a permanent director.
