Secretary of War Pete Hegseth today announced new appointments to the Defense Policy Board, naming Ambassador Robert Lighthizer as Chair and former Senator Norm Coleman as Vice Chair. Lighthizer previously served as U.S. Trade Representative from 2017 to 2021.

– Dr. Michael P. Pillsbury
– Adm. (Ret) Chas A. Richard
– Mr. Francis P. Sempa
– Mr. Christopher A. Williams
– Mr. Theo J. Wold
Established in 1985, the Defense Policy Board serves as an advisory committee that offers independent strategic advice and recommendations to the Secretary, the Deputy Secretary, and the Under Secretary for Policy. Its work centers on strategic planning, assessing policy implications of U.S. force structure and modernization, regional defense policies, and other defense and national security issues identified as priorities for the Department.
