MELBOURNE, Fla., Aug. 27, 2026 — L3Harris Technologies said it has successfully demonstrated the ability to rapidly sense threats, communicate across the joint force and coordinate a response during the U.S. Army’s Lightning Surge series of exercises.
The company said its communications solutions enabled soldiers to collect, share and act on critical battlefield information across dispersed formations.

L3Harris said it is making continued progress in support of new distributed and data-driven Army requirements since the service selected the company as an NGC2 transport layer provider. Its systems, including the new Wraith Shield software enhancement, are described as capable of adapting to rapidly changing operational conditions.
